Renting a bike in Kinderdijk is for sure a great idea!. It is the best way to explore it’s surroundings in a peaceful and natural way. There is a lot to discover, do and visit at and near the windmills in Kinderdijk. Even though the area is famous for being Worth heritage, it still has a sereen and peaceful feel to it. It doesn’t have to overcrowded tourism feel to it. You will have to experience it for yourself off course, but Kinderdijk is an authentic and a place to relax and enjoy nature.

You can rent a bike at our Souvenirshop directly at the base of the epicenter of the windmills and very near to the “de Lek” river. It is the ideal start and finish for a nice bike ride. Among the area of the windmills you can explore the neighboring villages and cities by bike. You are in luck, because this area has the best that the Netherlands has to offer and it is all in cycling range

A bike ride through the windmill area

This bike ride has a typical authentic Dutch feel to it. While cycling through the amazing natural “polder” scenery of Kinderdijk and its surroundings, you can stop and visit one of the many windmills, where you can either book a tour with a guide or visit one of the musea along the route. On your return you can shop our giftshop for souvenirs and/or have a drink or a bite to eat at our neighboring restaurant “Grand Café Buena vista.

A bike ride to Rotterdam or Dordrecht

The fit and sporty cyclists under us can take the long route, where they will visit neighboring towns like Alblasserdan, Papendrecht, Ridderkerk before they reach either Dordrecht or Rotterdam. But you know the Netherlands to be a country to have a strong connection with water. We would advice you to take the Watertaxi and combine your bike ride with a ride on the water. For a couple of euros you will be able to see and visit Dordrecht or Rotterdam in a very original natural way. To see these cities from the water is absolutely breathtaking and something we highly recommend. Visit the natural park in Dordrecht called “De Biesbosch” and sightsee the centre of the oldest city in Holland. Or visit the International Harbour city Rotterdan, a modern lively city with old original dutch elements and engineering.

A bike ride to Nieuwpoort

Rent a bike and visit the historical settlement city Nieuwpoort. A historical authentic city with a rich history. Ride alongside the dikes while passing by the towns of Nieuw-Lekkerland, Streefkerk, Groot Ammers and visit this picturesque city.
